what is ROM ?

ROM stands for Read-Only Memory. It is a type of computer memory that stores data permanently and cannot be modified or erased by the user. ROM is used to store important system files and firmware that are required for the computer to boot up and operate properly. Unlike RAM, which is volatile memory that loses its contents when the computer is turned off, ROM retains its data even when the power is turned off.
